Serbia has managed to deceive the European Union into thinking that in relation to Kosovo, it is being constructive and pragmatic. Unfortunately, this is not the case. From the end of the 1999 conflict, Serbia has used all of its political, economic, intelligence, and diplomatic capital to undermine the effectiveness of Kosovo institutions and the work of the international community. Serbia’s actions have gone towards one single and unified aim: to make Kosovo a failed state in Europe. Therefore, it is imperative that a constructive approach towards Kosovo should be made a prerequisite for deepened ties between Serbia and the European Union. Indeed, Kosovo is counting on its allies in Europe to do just that.

Since Montenegro and Serbia declared their independence, the international body that oversees web domains Icann, agreed on a plan to retire this extension. After a two-year transition period that started in 2007, this domain now no longer exists.
